This is career guidance with personality, perspective and big-sis energy. Support that feels real and grounded in the day-to-day world of modern legal practice.

About the Founder

Mel Storey is a lawyer, mentor and content creator who has built her career at the intersection of law, leadership and modern career design.

She has worked across private practice and corporate sectors, most recently as Head of Legal for the Asia-Pacific region at a global technology marketplace. Over more than fifteen years in the profession, Mel has led teams, advised executives and built high-trust partnerships across complex global organisations.

The CV says: Queensland Law Society's In House Lawyer of the Year. Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30. Modern Counsel Global Legal Leaders Award. Committee member, board positions, all the external validation boxes ticked. Still, none of it answered the question that mattered: how can she optimise for legacy, impact and creativity? So she left to figure it out.

Through Counsel Media and her mentoring brand Career Big Sis, Mel's writing, workshops and digital resources have reached thousands of lawyers across Australia and the world.

She hosts the Counsel Podcast, shares daily insights on LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok and is currently releasing The Ungatekept Guide to Legal Careers, a comprehensive digital resource series for law students and early-career lawyers.

Mel lives in sunny Brisbane, Australia.
