What CounselCon is

A one day conference built for the next generation of Australian lawyers.

The legal event circuit has been running the same format since before most of us were admitted and it feels a little… tired.

Beige rooms, a panel of four blokes in quarter zips, a lanyard, a sad sandwich, three CPD points and nothing that changes how anyone feels about their career the following week.

CounselCon is our attempt at the correction.

One room, one day, 150 lawyers and a program built around the real conversations that get had quietly in group chats and rarely get had on a stage.

Money, ambition, burnout, AI and what it actually takes to build a legal career that survives contact with a real and fulfilling life in 2026.

The shape of the room

150 seats at The Calile, theatre style, single track, one day.

Early and mid career lawyers, mostly women aged 25 to 35, across in-house and private practice from all over Australia.

Ambitious about the work, unconvinced by the culture around it and making real decisions right now about where they work, what they use and who they trust.

Behind them sits the Counsel Media ecosystem, 50,000+ engaged legal professionals across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, the Counsel Podcast and an active email list.

Partner presence lands in the room and echoes across all of it, before, during and after the day.

How the partnership works

Eight partners.

No tiers, no headline, no platinum and bronze.

Everyone in the room is a Foundation Partner and everyone is treated the same.

Four positions are held for legal brands and four for brands from outside the profession who want to reach this community and are a values aligned fit.

Categories are exclusive, so no partner shares the room with a direct competitor.
