MY STORY
For six years, I have been having these conversations one at a time, online, on the podcast and in my DMs. I have had the privilege of hearing your stories, your doubts and the things you do not say out loud at work, and for most of that time I have been the person in the middle, quietly connecting the dots between all of you.
CounselCon is me stepping out of the middle.
This is the community I have been building for years, finally in one room and meeting each other rather than meeting through me, because none of us were ever meant to do this career alone.
We have done this online for long enough, so we are taking it analog and getting you 🎶 in the room where it happens. 🎶
THE ROOM
I am keeping the speaker line-up in my back pocket a little longer, so you will have to trust me on this one, and I promise I will not let you down.
There are some incredible guests coming, including international speakers and a few faces you will probably recognise from your FYP.
This is the kind of day you get to bring up for years ("I was at the first CounselCon") and the connections you make in that room will last a lifetime.*

TICKETS
Early bird tickets are on sale now at $550 plus GST, which is the best price we will offer.
When early bird closes the price steps up to $650 plus GST for second release, then $750 plus GST for general admission, so the earlier you commit the better you do.

✨ Do I need to be a practising lawyer to come?
No. Law students, graduates, in-house counsel, private practice and people working in and around the legal industry are all welcome. The only requirement is an interest in doing this career on your own terms, being curious and staying open-minded.
✨ Is this a women's event?
No. Do not let the pink fool you. CounselCon is for the whole next generation of the profession, whoever you are, and Career Big Sis has always been about opening the door rather than deciding who gets to walk through it.
✨ Who is speaking?
The line-up is being released in stages after early bird opens, with names across career, identity, AI and the future of the profession.
✨ Does it count for CPD?
Honest answer, we do not know yet. We are looking into it, though the accreditation process appears to have been designed by the same institution that gave us the six minute unit, so it is taking a minute. If you know how this works, email hello@melstorey.com and we will name a coffee break after you.
✨ Is there a payment plan?
Yes. Choose it at checkout, pay a deposit now and the rest comes out in scheduled instalments shown to you before you commit. All instalments are paid in full before the event.
✨ What is the refund and transfer policy?
Tickets are non-refundable but they are transferable, so if you cannot make it you can pass your ticket on at no cost. Just let us know before the event so we can update the name. Full detail is in the ticket terms and conditions.
✨ What if I have a dietary or accessibility requirement?
Tell us when you book. There is a spot at checkout for it and we will do what we reasonably can with the venue to make the day work for you.
